RyeLaw Has Launched In The Far East

The global roll out of our first brand, RyeLaw, continues with the launch in Taiwan and Japan. Both these countries are key markets in this important whisky region and we are delighted to be working with Union Liquor in Japan and Drinks, Wines and Spirits Co in Taiwan. The brand was presented by the company’s Managing Director, Ian Palmer, to the trade, national press and key influencers in both markets.

We had a fantastic discussion with whisky influencer, Steven Lin, during our launch week in Taipei, and you can watch the interview below.

In Japan, Ian hosted a number of seminars, discussing our unique processes; using our hammer mill, mash filter and Lomond Still, including the importance of the Stills’ bubble caps, as seen above.

Time was spent in both countries visiting the on-trade and off-trade, meeting with store owners and bar managers, providing education on RyeLaw’s distillation process and flavour profile.

We have a few more stops to make on our global launch of RyeLaw before the end of the year and Ian had the following to say on it’s global roll out,

“RyeLaw, as the brand name suggests, is made using malted rye and malted barley, with the rye making up the largest portion of the mash bill. RyeLaw is a ‘Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky’, the first and so far only whisky to use Fife as its geographic descriptor. Despite being produced in full accordance with the American definition of Rye whisky the brand cannot be called a Scottish Rye Whisky. If RyeLaw was produced in almost every other country in the world it could be called a Rye Whisky. A position that makes the launching of a new brand from a new distillery on the global stage even more challenging. A true example of a regulatory regime lagging behind the marketplace. Time for change.”

InchDairnie Carbon Footprint Report 2023-2024

“Net zero” is everywhere right now and is thrown around in almost meaningless fashion in the same way the word “sustainable” is. But what does it actually mean and how can we achieve it?

KinGlassie: Peat Use and Restoration

We recognise that whisky relies on natural resources for its production, and that making a peated whisky uses a precious Scottish resource. We do not take this for granted.  Extraction has an impact on the environment, so we are taking steps to balance what we use by supporting peatland restoration across Scotland.

A Partnership with Muntons Malt

In this ever-changing landscape of sustainability, we feel we are in safe hands. Much of our carbon footprint is in our cereals, so working directly with both Munton’s and our local Fife farmer at Balgonie Estate, we are working together to reduce this.
